Squint to See What's Far

The idea behind Squint to See What's Far was that of a stereotypical "coming of age" tale. I wrote this piece soon after arriving in Miami for my Masters and I was thinking a great deal of how I set a goal and saw it coming to fruition in front of my face. This also coincided with the end of my relationship with my partner in Chicago, and I needed something uplifting to pull me through, and the quirkiness of the bassoon quartet aligned perfectly. Squint to See What's Far was commissioned by Ryan Reynolds and the Miami University of Ohio Bassoon Quartet.
