- Fortify for solo piano is an etude inspired by the false sense of security those in favor of a wall bordering Mexico, higher military spending, and governmental privatization enjoy. This ignorance builds and builds itself into a blissful stupor, drowning in Fox News and elementary diction, stuttering into the moral compass of the twenty first century. As the pun of the title may imply, Fortify is also depicting the God head of this regression, Donald Trump, number forty five. The form of the piece is also laid out in sections of repeating fours and fives, alongside the stumbling rhythm of four sixteenths followed by five. The time signature denotes the age attributed to Mr. Trump's biggest and bestest words. Try to enjoy the lull of Fortify, but stay woke folks.
